Doesn't it make you feel good when you watch a TV game show and you know the answer?   Does it frustrate you when you feel you should have known the answer?

This site is designed to help us learn/recall some of the things we feel we ought to know.   Somehow or other, that information often seems to elude us.   The flash card approach used in elementary school is a good way to quickly learn/remember certain types of information.   So, we use that approach extensively.   We think it's important to give you answers quickly.   Therefore, whenever possible, answers will be one click away.  We do our best to keep things simple. If learning is fun, it will become a habit you'll never outgrow. What types of material will be covered? Just about anything -- some geography, math, history, etc. Just click on the shaded links in the Flash Card list on the left hand side of this page to try the exercises.

As you practice the flash card drills, you will notice that you can recall the answers more quickly. We think you'll derive a good deal of satisfaction as you notice the improvement in your speed of recall.

From time to time we will provide practical hints that you may find useful.   Here is one of those hints.

MATH HINT: There is an easy way to figure out what you'll pay after a sale discount is applied. If the sign says " 40% off " that means that you'll be paying 60% of the original price, because 100% - 40% is 60%.   If the original price was $30, you'll pay 60% of that ($18).   Calculating 60% in your head is not really hard.   You could multiply by 60 and move the decimal point 2 places to the left.   The easier way is to multiply by 6 and move the decimal point one place to the left.   If the original price is $30, multiply 30 by 6 to get 180.   After moving the decimal point one place, we get $18.
